The concept for the shield was first conceived when Bob Peterson’s wife said she wanted to have one to wear when she had to leave their house.

After considering how it would be used, he set out to make one that would be comfortable to wear, reusable, durable, require a minimum number of parts and not need to be assembled before using.

After testing his concept using a piece of paper, we determined we could make the shields using our laser to cut the PETG we use for packaging CON2R instrument sets.

The process to heat and form the shields was discussed at length and once we agreed upon an approach, it was in operation and in use the next day.

There is no question it feels good to create and provide a product that will help with preventing infections but nothing would make us happier than seeing the demand for these shields drop to zero.

Comments and questions are welcome.
